Joshua Tree Day 3 & 4: Ryan Mountain Sunrise Hike, Keys View, Arch Rock Trail, Cholla Cactus Garden

My friends and I went to Joshua Tree in August, and it was an experience I never would have imagined. Hiking, bonfires, the struggles, the highs, the stories, and the inside jokes, this trip brought us together like family. Even looking back, it seems surreal, and even looking at these photos, it looks like I’m looking at someone else.

3-4 groups that have never met together as a whole came together and we built bonds we never expected. Here’s to Winter 2022!

In this particular vlog, we woke up at 4:30 AM for a sunrise hike at Ryan Mountain, shopped in Joshua Tree for Michelle’s cowboy outfit, Keys View sunset, and Joshua Tree Saloon! Then we actually had a chill day and did a Family dinner where we cooked and baked together and then headed out to Arch Rock trail, Cholla Cactus Garden, and then decorated cupcakes! Check it out!

I’m training for a triathlon!

I like hiking, but to be honest, I’m a bit of a crybaby when it comes to potentially tripping, slipping, or to put it simply, DYING. 😹

Meanwhile things like cliff diving, skydiving, and jetskiing don’t phase me.

I had a car accident during my sophomore year spring break that permanently damaged my ankle. I fractured it, and it was so bad, they suggested surgery. I ended up opting out of it due to long term complications and healed it naturally through a cast and boot for 3-4 months. All while dealing with Boston’s long stretch of a campus let alone not being able to wash my foot so you can already imagine the smells! 🤢

I always have been a strong swimmer and biker/cyclist, but I always hated running or anything that puts in a lot of pressure and impact on my ankle and even my joints like my knees. Hiking is included!

But now I’m facing my fears and seeing a personal trainer so I can finally train for a triathlon! Even if I walk it, I’m completely fine with that, but this is the first step!

Most consulting firms do follow a “recruitment season” to hire entry level, specifically from schools like college, university, or graduate programs. So many people ask me what they should prepare or how should they even get started, so here’s all of my advice jam packed into one video so you can get that job offer!

Testimonial

Boy this journey has been crazy!

It’s messages like this that really brighten up my day and make what I’m doing worth it to do. I actually made a shift this month where I decreased my YouTube video release schedule to just once a week instead of twice and a podcast episode every other week rather than every week. I wanted to make a focus more on Technology Consulting Community’s resources, events, and programs.

We are kicking off our second wave of the pro Bono consulting program next week and so excited!

Recruitment season is also here, and make sure to check out my free content on YouTube, Instagram, podcast, and Technology Consulting Community (TCC)!

If you are interested in a career in technology consulting, make sure to join TCC’s Facebook group, Clubhouse, and Discord server to join the discussions on how to launch and grow your career in technology consulting! We also have free events, programs, activities, and workshops.

Joshua Tree Day 1 & 2: Farmer’s Market, Skull Rock Nature Trail, Hidden Valley Nature Trail

My friends and I went to Joshua Tree in August, and it was an experience I never would have imagined. Hiking, bonfires, the struggles, the highs, the stories, and the inside jokes, this trip brought us together like family. 3-4 groups that have never met together as a whole came together and we built bonds we never expected. Here’s to Winter 2022!

In this particular vlog, Addison, Sally, Tommy, Hanna and I fly out of Laguardia Airport in NYC to Palm Springs International Airport and then take a car rental to Joshua Tree. We joined up with Michelle N. Lam, Collin Miller, Olivia Lam, and Luc Wittenberg! We went to our amazing airbnb, and then we went to the Farmer’s Market where we cooked our own lunch and made our homemade mojitos! Then we went to Skull Rock nature trail where we ran into drama due to no service and then we did the Hidden Valley Nature Trail in darkness because we missed the sunset due to the drama. Check it out!

What is AI?

I’m by no means an expert in AI, but it is NOT perfect and will not take over humans. It would help speed processes, but it will still require human intervention.

There is data bias from AI and it’s only as good as your data was. There’s also a lot of bias with the data you put in, so it’s always very important to make sure you try to remove bias.

What did you think of the situation in the graphic? Are you surprised?

How Not to Give a F*ck: Achieve More by Caring Less!

Something I pride in a lot about myself that really helped me achieve as much as I was able to at this point is simply how I don’t give a f*ck. Because of that, I can recover very fast and start taking action to improve, reinvent, or pivot. I don’t exactly have a method per se, but I broke down what goes on in my head into 5 digestible steps and hopefully this can help you as well! I think a lot of times, we are so self-critical about ourselves or we care too much, but sometimes we spend so much time thinking we don’t act!

Covve Collaboration!

I used to be so so excited to get my own business cards when I was a kid, and when I joined Accenture, I was actually able to order my own! But now I have so many more than just that like my YouTube channel, Instagram, podcast, and Technology Consulting Community on top of Accenture, it’s now an outdated waste of paper.

Covve provides an alternative with NFC business cards! A simple tap on your smartphone and all of my information opens and enables you from saving my contact information directly with just a tap! Check out Covve!

P.S. This is also way more environmentally friendly! This is 2021. It’s a baseline requirement now.

We went to Chicago for our 4 year anniversary! | Deep Dish Pizza, Lincoln Park Zoo, 360 Chicago TILT

We always like to travel for our anniversaries and birthdays, and for our 4 year anniversary, we went to Chicago! This was Addison’s first time in Chicago, but my third time. We checked out Gino’s East and Lou Malnati’s for deep dish pizza, Lincoln Park Zoo, boba vending machine Mycha at Block 37, 360 Chicago and their TILT ride, Starbucks Reserve Roastery (biggest in the world with 5 floors!), shopping on the Magnificent Mile, Portillo’s, Millennium Park and the Bean, and Navy Pier! For the day of our 4 year anniversary, we had boba, got a massage, and went to a one Michelin star restaurant, Sepia! AMAZING experience!
