I’ve finally ramped up and working full speed towards the holidays with my clients. Being an advertising solutions architect in shopping at Google, I work with retail clients preparing for the holiday season on their shopping feeds and feature activation. I also went into the office (the 9th ave NYC office) and brought Addison, Derek, and Christy over as well to also celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival at Google! These are the three most common questions I get about consulting! The difficult part about consulting is that your experience really differs by location, firm, area and specialty. Ask anyone and they will say “it depends!“ These are generalized answers and I always recommend you to network to get a holistic view for your targeted area!
It is also excellent for people who are still trying to figure out what they want to do! I actually did consulting to figure out what I wanted to do with tech while having exposure to many different companies, industries and people!

I met Sid back in college at Boston University when recruiting for the Personal Finance Club, and we both were on our journeys towards consulting! He is now a consultant at Deloitte based in New York City, and it wasn’t without hardship as he did it as an international student when many companies and firms have been restricting recruitment of international students due to the risk of the sponsorship lottery! We talk about his experience as an international student, going through the recruitment process at Deloitte, and his current consulting experience now as well as a big tip he shared to us for international students bypassing the H1B lottery!
