Three Top Reasons Why Technology Consulting Isn’t For You

I constantly preach about technology consulting as an amazing career and option for many people to discover your love within technology or through many projects, clients, and industries, but there are still reasons why technology consulting might not be for you. I can only come up with three SPECIFIC to technology consulting and not other types of consulting.

If you are debating between consulting disciplines or just other career paths within tech in general, this is the video for you!

Caitlin Jones: Personal Trainer, Entrepreneur, Real Estate Investor | WOMEN OF INSPIRATION

I met Caitlin Jones a year ago when I was apprehensive towards group fitness classes. Especially when I never did spin classes before! Caitlin was my very first spin instructor at Flywheel, and I was HOOKED! I loved her energy and has been following her ever since! Due to the pandemic, the fitness industry changed a lot, and I caught up with her on what she’s been up to. I didn’t even know about half of what she’s done until I sat down with her for this episode! There is also a huge focus on mental & emotional health and happiness on this episode, so you don’t want to miss this!

Caitlin graduated with a degree in business from Carnegie Mellon University, became a dancer for the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA to pursue her passion in dance, and while doing so also worked at Flywheel and WillyB Crossfit! She also invests in real estate as well which I found was incredibly interesting! During the pandemic, she became her own boss with her own online fitness program and personal training!

Mistakes in the Workplace

I’ve made my fair share of mistakes that at first seem harmless but can have much bigger negative impacts in the workplace! Either to clients, your team, or even yourself!

I notice the more work and stress I get, the more mistakes I’m prone to. Unfortunately, even mistakes in your respective areas that you didn’t make are still your responsibility and I learned that this week.

What are some mistakes you made at work?

How I Manage My Time

So many people wonder how I manage my time with a full time job in technology consulting, being serious about my YouTube channel, podcast, and the Technology Consulting Community while staying sane and prioritizing my mental and emotional health.

What were some of your tips on how you manage your time?

My Job & Internship Rejections Story | Low GPA, Awkward Interviews, Cultural Fit?

Oh boy, this will be an interesting story. There are some secrets I’ve never told many people either! Everyone talks about how amazing their jobs and internships are, but rarely does anyone talk about the true rejection stories behind the success. Before becoming a technology consultant at Accenture, I faced a lot of rejections and wanted to share them all to you so you can learn from my mistakes!

I dig deep to all my rejections from freshman through senior year of college on why I got rejected, how I felt, and what I did. Some of it is very personal, so please be gentle with me! I wanted to share this with you to show you you’re not alone and you can still get a well paying job in a top company after graduation despite many odds!

What were some job and internship rejections you had and how you got out of it? This can be a sensitive topic as most attribute a rejection as “something wrong with you,” but it really isn’t! You just need to keep pushing through and you will prevail. That dream job is waiting for you!

We Bought a Condo in our 20s! Rent vs. Buy, Relationship with Money, Our Experience | CHATTING WITH CHRISTINE

My boyfriend, Addison Chen, and I bought a condo in Brooklyn! We are so excited, but we know we are also extremely privileged to be able to do this in our 20s. Many young working professionals I know don’t really know much about money, so in this episode, my boyfriend Addison and I talk about renting vs. buying, how to save for a house, and our home buying experience. It has always been the American dream to buy your own house, have your own family, have some dogs running around in the field, but is that really feasible anymore? We talk about how everything has changed for our generation.
