What’s better of a household with two technology consultants than a vlog of what a technical consultant does compared to what I do as a functional consultant?

I follow along in Addison Chen’s day 73 Vogue questions style asking the questions you have about how it’s like as a Workday Integrations Consultant at Accenture! This not indicative of how every technical consultant, Workday Integrations consultant, or even Accenture employee does on a daily basis as all of that varies by client, project, role, and firm, but at least this would give you a snapshot of how it would be!

I also found it pretty interesting myself because I always knew what he was doing, but I never truly followed his day to day until now. Functional vs. Technical is very different!

WEEKEND In My Life in NYC VLOG | Japanese Cherry Blossoms, Asian Food & Content Creation | Brooklyn

With everything slowly opening back up in New York City and spring finally here, I finally got to see the Japanese cherry blossoms and dine out (and order in) with a lot of Asian cuisine and with friends! I currently live in New York City, specifically in Brooklyn, and I take you on a typical weekend of my life, so let’s explore more of Brooklyn! I’ve lived in New York for my whole life, but NYC is always beautiful, delicious, and fun to live in. As a content creator, I also record podcast episodes and film videos for my own YouTube channel on the weekends on top of my full time job as a technology consultant at Accenture. I am also the founder of the Technology Consulting Community and we also had a call for our pro bono consulting program as well in this vlog!

When going out, please still wear a mask, social distance, and get vaccinated if you can. We still need to work together to protect our community from COVID19!

Consulting Staffing Process

Did you know after a job interview and job offer, you STILL have to search for projects? You can either wait for your staffing coordinator to find one for you or you take it in your own hands to network and find the projects you want to do to advance your own career in the way you want to!

Here is the typical staffing process. Sometimes you even get client interviews and the client could decide on which resources should be staffed on the project and sometimes it’s more of an introduction.

I know many people who don’t find their work to be fulfilling in consulting, and while partially that could be because of the firm, sometimes it’s actually because of you. The staffing and networking process is where you can pave your own path. Most people who do wait for a project while “on the bench” (which means unstaffed), won’t get a project they want.
