This is Our Experience as Asian Americans | Stop Racism

With what’s going on with the Asian American community, it saddens us to hear all of the harassment and assaults aimed at the Asian American Pacific Islander community. We wanted to bring to light about our own experiences as Asian Americans for you to learn about how it’s like living in the US, the prejudices and racism we experienced, the “model minority” myth, and how we feel on where we belong. We do not represent the entire Asian American population, but these are our personal experiences as Asian Americans!

All ad revenue will be donated to Asian Americans Advancing Justice as my employer, Accenture, is matching a dollar to each dollar.

Big vs. Boutique Consulting Firms

I’m always a fan of boutique firms and always didn’t understand why so many people cared about being in the MBB or Big 4 as the ONLY destination. Boutique firms provide so much value and is actually how I started out when I did my data analytics consulting internship at Analytic Partners in NYC.

There are pros and cons to both big and boutique firms, but frankly it also depends on what you want to do with your career. Large consulting firms are great if you still want to explore many different parts of consulting and industries, and boutique firms are great to get a lot of focused experience and skills in a particular industry, field, or region – like data analytics at Analytic Partners!

Next time ask yourself why do you want to pursue consulting or the field you’re interested, and it can help you make the decision!

What YOU Should Know After Graduation: Personal Finance, Dating, & Friendship

Full podcast episode here: https://linktr.ee/christinepodcast

I had friends stay over with me not too long ago, and they happened to be YouTubers as well! I sat down with my boyfriend, Addison Chen, The Handoff with Derek Mei, and his girlfriend, Christy Joonie Park. We all graduated 3-4 years ago and some of us are already working full time, some of us are in grad school or even optometry school, and we come from different walks of life. With many college students graduating soon in May, I thought this would be perfect!

DAY IN MY LIFE AS A TECH CONSULTANT | I tried the Pomodoro Technique as a Consultant. Does it work?

Trying something new and I was curious if the Pomodoro technique could work with a consultant’s lifestyle! I was skeptical, but this is what happened! This is a day in my life as a tech consultant at Accenture, and a very accurate and no fluff vlog at that too!

To those who don’t know what the Pomodoro technique is, it’s a time management method to work in focused, 25-minute intervals with short breaks of 5 minutes. This may work for many, and this may also not work for many!

Haters Gonna Hate

Haters gonna hate. No matter where you go, no matter how far you want to go, you’ll always have haters and people who wish you fail. It definitely sucks even more when it’s the people closest to you. I even have family who actually don’t support my career, my YouTube channel, revealing as much as I do online, and my own success.

I like to say the smaller you are, the more freedom you have to do whatever you want (within legal and ethical lines), but I think even when you get bigger and grow your presence, it’s important not to feel the pressure of your presence and still move forward. Speak up even if there is darkness because you will be the light for so many others. As you get bigger, your shadow grows and so do the haters, but so does your impact on the community whether it be positive or negative.

I GIVE MY BOYFRIEND A HAIRCUT: So How Much Does He Know About Me?

I’ve been cutting Addison’s hair a lot due to the pandemic, but at a certain point, I got tired, so he tried cutting it himself. He actually cut a BIT too much at one point on the side of his head, but I was like why don’t I do it BUT let’s make a video out of it where we see how much he knows about me! It’s actually intended to ask these questions in a fun way so you can learn a little bit more about me!

For each time he got it right, he would get one minute of haircut (30 seconds if partially right), and for each time he got it wrong, I would just keep asking questions about me. How well do you think he did and how was the haircut?

The Different Tracks of Technology Consulting | Functional vs. Technical Consulting

A common misconception about technology consulting is that you need to know how to code or program or you need a technical background, but it’s more of a spectrum between business and technology. There are multiple tracks within technology consulting: there is functional consulting which is more on the management consulting spectrum, and there is technical consulting which is more on the technology spectrum, but both are needed for a successful project.

CONSULTING 101: How to handle difficult client questions and situations | CLIENT FACING SKILLS

So you’re a new consultant or you’re interested in consulting and not sure how to handle difficult client questions and situations. What should you be doing? What do you do if you don’t know the answer? I share methods and strategies that my colleagues have used to make sure you can still uphold professionalism while maintaining the trust with your clients!

It’s very important to to sharpen these skills because client facing skills are so important, much more than your actual business and technical acumen because if the client doesn’t like or trust you, there’s nothing you can show them!
